| VIDEO: Man steals 4-foot python by stuffing it in pants - WTHR Posted: 28 Mar 2019 05:04 AM PDT ![]() ROCKWOOD, Mich. (WTHR) — "There's no way he could just be missing." That's what a pet store worker said after thinking one of the store's snakes had escaped. She was right, Pasta the Python wasn't just "missing." As it turns out, the snake had been stolen from its cage by a man who stuffed it down his pants. WDIV-TV reports police in Rockwood, Michigan are looking for the culprit after security footage shows the man grab Pasta out of his tank, stick him down his pants and calmly walk away. Employees said he came in asking about snakes and rats. Works left him alone for a moment, which is when he grabbed the snake. Officials say he paid the $6 for the rat, but skipped out on paying the $100 for the python. Now police are asking for the public's help in identifying the thief. Employee Emily Scheiwe said Pasta had recently been adopted and was scheduled to go home the same day the thief stole him. "I wish it would have bit him," Scheiwe said. "It would have made for a much better video if it would have bit him." |
