Lady Gaga's "Judas" Music Video is Here!

If you are one of the few who has not already seen Lady Gaga's new masterpiece that is her "Judas" music video, then I suggest you view it now. The five and a half minute mini movie leaked yesterday earlier than expected, then was officially premiered on E! around 6:45pm followed by a short interview with the pop artist describing what the video really meant to her. The video has already past the three million view mark on Vevo and sent the single back up the iTunes chart, just not as high as I was expecting.
The music video begins with an intro where we get to see Gaga as the leader of a biker gang holding on to the good looking man portraying Jesus. We are then introduced to the horrible Judas, Gaga's hateful ex, while the pop star engages in some difficult and amazing choreography, that seems to be the highlight of the entire project. After many beautiful closeups and costume changes, the video stops the music to show the love triangle together in a bath tub, very sexy scene. A betrayal is shown as Gaga sheds a tear and gets stoned to death while playing the character of Mary Magdalene at the end of the video.
The video is not as controversial as Religious groups were making it out to be, if fact I could not find anything horrible about it. Gaga wanted people to know that she was not trying to attack religion with the music video, but wanted people to view the story from a different approach, the message she gives is very convincing. "Judas" is about loving the man that is not right for you when you have the perfect guy already by your side. She uses religion and the character as a interesting and effective metaphor. The video is shot beautifully, very sharp and clean, and has to be one of Gaga's best, after "Bad Romance" and "Born This Way".
The song itself debuted at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since fallen to number 20 after just three weeks. The song may not catch on with most audiences due to its controversial subject matter, but the point is that the song is a great creation by Gaga. People need to look past the religious hatred and take the underlining message about love and betrayal. At the time of this writing, "Judas" was number 13 on the iTunes chart, while the video shot straight to number one just a few hours after its release.

What do you think of Lady Gaga's latest music video for her second single "Judas"? Did she go too far or did she play it safe with this one? Let me know what you think.
